Later Years

In the Later Years of Schooling, learning is designed to provide students with opportunities to further develop communication, social competencies, self confidence and independence. Experiences expand to develop creativity, real-world knowledge and personal and shared responsibility for their learning. Greater levels of independence is encouraged. Jennings Street School provides educational experiences designed to meet every student’s diverse social, emotional and intellectual needs. STEAM, Project based alternative learning pathways, Program Tasters, MeTV, Minecraft Club and SRC are some of the experiences that promote individual growth. Personalized Career Pathways Plans (CAPS) are developed in consultation with families and students, aligned to Career Pathways. As students move through the Later Years of Schooling, programs including authentic and functional work related experiences, training, further education and employment opportunities are tailored to pathways to teach priority skills and knowledge required for beyond school.
